IMPHAL, November 8: In an instance of a raging crime in the State, a father was severely thrashed by unidentified persons while his son has been abducted at gun point from near Konsam Oil Pump at Meitei Lamkhai along Imphal-Moreh Road under Singjamei Police Station this evening around 5.05 pm.
The injured father has been identified as Kangabam Jadumani Singh, 48 from Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak while his abducted son has been identified as K Premdan Singh, 24.
Reports said the father-son duo was coming in a Maruti car when some unidentified persons stopped them and thrashed Jadumani after pulling down from the vehicle at gun point.
The assailants numbering around four including a woman then took away Premdan along with the car. The assailants had come in a Maruti Alto car. The registration number of the car could not be known, sources said.
Police have launched search operation in different areas on getting the report of the incident, however, there is still no news of any arrest made till the filing this report.
