IMPHAL, Nov 3: The KCP (Poirei) in a press release has warned of taking up stringent actions against the officials of the Tourism Department for conducting rampant corruption in awarding tenders to undeserving contractors.
Publicity secretary of the outfit , Malemnganba Meitei said that the outfit has asked the department to maintain transparency in the selection process and to provide a white paper. It said that as the appeal of the outfit has been derided by the officials of the department, the only resolve now is to take matters into the hand and rectify the corruption and nepotism of the department.
It said that the public should co-operate with the outfit to bring about transparency and should not rally to organize sit in protests/ dharnas when befitting action is taken up from the outfits side. It also applauded the stance taken up by Maoist Communist Party of Manipur and KCP(Liberation ) of boycotting the Sangai festival.
