IMPHAL, November 14: The Manipur State Legal Services Authority in association with High Court Bar Association of Manipur (HCBAM) today conducted a legal seminar as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Bar association at MFDC auditorium, Palace Compound.
The silver jubilee celebration will however, be formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister on November 16 at the High Court Auditorium Hall.
Today`™s legal seminar was attended by eminent Jurist, senior advocate, former Addl Solicitor General of India and Member of Parliament Dr Abhisek Singhvi as special guest and Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as the chief guest.
Gaikhangam lighted the inaugural lamps to formally inaugurate the seminar and rushed off.
Meanwhile, a 20-minute long documentary on `Manaba Mityeng-Manaba Wayel`™ promoting legal services in the remote places of Manipur was shown.
A lecture on Crime against Women was presented by the Judge of High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong Justice T Nandakumar Singh and later special guest Dr Abhisek Singhvi spoke on `Reforms in the Administration of Justice: Beating the Backlog`™.
As part of Silver Jubilee Celebration the organisers is conducting sports event on November 15 at Khuman Lampak.
President High Court Bar Association of Manipur Kh Binoykumar Singh, Senior Advocate; Judge, High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong Justice T Nanadakumar Singh; Judge, High Court of Manipur Justice N Kotiswar Singh; Judge, High Court of Manipur Justice Kh Nobin Singh; Ld Advocate General, Manipur Th Ibohal Singh; Chairman, Bar Council of Manipur Namoijam Ibotombi Singh, Senior Advocate and President, All Manipur Bar Association H Chandrajit Sharma, Senior Advocate were also present in the function as president and guests of honour respectively.
