BISHNUPUR, November 7: Department of Social Welfare organized a one-day sensitization cum training programme on Child Protection for ASHAs and Aganwadi Workers at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Bishnupur district today.
Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Bobby Waikhom; Social Welfare Officer Bishnupur District A Kameshwar and Chief Medical Officer, Bishnupur Dr H Babychand graced the occasion as chief guest, president and guest of honor respectively.
Attending as resource persons, Director of Childline Bishnupur L Pishak Singh; Programme Officer of State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) Victoria Konsam and former Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Imphal East Keisham Pradipkumar spoke on ‘Issue of Child Trafficking in Manipur’, ‘Illeghal Adoption and its Remedies’ and ‘Salient Features of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 respectively.
