IMPHAL, December 21: A large group of candidates who had sat for the written test for recruitment of 200 ANM and 21 GNM posts conducted in 2013, today stormed the Health Directorate and shut it down momentarily, demanding the directorate to declare the result of the test at the earliest.
The angered candidates had locked the main building in the evening and tried to enter the Director’s office chamber after knocking down the main gate of the directorate.
Soon the protesting candidates entered into a confrontation with the security personnel present in the compound of the directorate office, however, the Director Okram Ibomcha arrived soon at the spot and managed to calm the protestors and assured to declare the result by January 2016.
On receiving the assurance from the director himself, the agitating nurses unlocked the main gate.
A member of the All Manipur ANM/GNM Written Test Faced Candidates Association which was spearheading the agitation, Sanasam Malemnganbi who is also a candidate told media persons at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today that the director has informed that a meeting will be arranged with the representative of the association and the concerned Minister to bring out an amicable solution.
She said earlier in 2014, their representatives had met and discussed the issue with the Health Director, concerned minister and the Chief Minister however, the authorities have failed to declare the results till date.
