IMPHAL, December 27: Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan today charged all ministers of the Congress government of being corrupt and even challenged Social Welfare minister Ak Mirabai that he will end his political career if she could prove that her replies to a starred question during an Assembly session in 2012 are true.

The MLA was speaking at his reception function following his bye-election win held at Thangmeiband Polem Leikai organised by the Panthoibi Welfare Youth Center today.

He said all the ministers of the Okram Ibobi Singh led government have been committing malpractices to serve their own vested interests.

The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution minister is yet unable to respond to his malpractice charges, Joykishan claimed.

Further charging the Social Welfare minister Ak Mirabai of malpractices, he said being the only woman minister in the State cabinet, the people of Manipur especially the womenfolk had expected a lot from her, however, till date she is unable to work for the women and the children community.

He said during an Assembly session in 2012, the minister had given wrong facts to a starred question from him.

Further challenging the minister, he said if Mirabai is afraid to come to Thangmeiband constituency he is ready to debate anywhere in her own constituency and prove his charges with documents.

He said if he fails to prove the charges, he is ready to resign from his political career.

He said the Social Welfare department had sanctioned construction of 20 Anganwadi centres in his constituency, however there are only three completed centres, although during the 2012 Assembly session, Mirabai had replied that construction of all sanctioned centres have been completed.

Joykisan claimed that in the next Assembly session, he had put up another starred question as to how many Anganwadi centres have been constructed in the State, but unfortunately since she was absent on the day, CM Ibobi had replied on her behalf and stated that ‘running advance’ for the construction of the centres had been paid, however, it has been found that some were still not constructed. The CM, he said had then assured to look into the issue. Unfortunately, the State government is yet to take up any action in this regard, he claimed.

Further charging minister Ak Mirabai of not doing anything for the welfare of the people, he said all she has done is provide lip-service about how much she, being the Social Welfare minister loves the women and children.

He further claimed that the Prime Minister and his Union Ministers have sought a report on corruption charges against State ministers.

He continued, he will be leaving Imphal for the national capital today to apprise the Centre on the malpractices of the State ministers.
