CCPUR, December 3: A team of 22 students and a teacher of the Vimala Raina Government High School led by their headmaster Donglianpau today left for Mumbai on an all-expense paid excursion organised by the Churachandpur Town based 7 Assam Rifles under the Army’s National Integration Tour.
The team was flagged off by the 27 Sector Commander Brigadier RK Sharma from the sector Head Quarter at Tuibuang this morning.
According to the organizers, the excursion is organised annually in order to provide a chance to the students from the poorer section of the society to go and visit the cities in mainland India, interact with the people there and see their culture, development and way of living.
The team will be visiting different installations of the Defence Forces in an around Pune and Mumbai which will hopefully provide a boost to the ambition of the young students to go higher in their life.
The excursion team is being led by a Major ranked officer of the 7 AR along with five staff including a women staff of the AR and is expected to return December 20.
