NEW DELHI, December 11: To esteem the Human Rights, Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Students (DAMMS), New Delhi observed the International Human Rights Day at Delhi University Park, under the theme “Manipur Muslim and Human Right violation”, said a press release by DAMMS.
It said, the speaker of the day, Md. Chengiz Khan, Ph.D Research Scholar has clearly articulated on various incidents of human right violations in Manipur due to AFSPA, communal violence and bureaucratic dominance. Md. Chengiz Khan also commented the need for much civil society organizations to give awareness to common people on the aspects of Human Rights.
Other speakers have also commented the need to fight against Mob justice and corruption in Manipur which are the major image of Human Right violation, said the press release.
It said, DAMMS has appealed the State Government to ensure “right to life, liberty and security to every citizen” which is highly recommended in Article 2 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948, and DAMMS has further appealed everyone to restrain from mob justice and ensure everyone the right to be judge by constitution.
