DC Jacintha inaugurates Computer Lab. at EMRS Sapormeina

KANGPOKPI, December 11: Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Jacintha Lazarus inaugurated a 30-capacity Computer Laboratory at Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Sapormeina during the school’s annual Parents’ Day cum Prize Distribution event today at the school premise.

The lady IAS officer attended the function as chief guest while Chongpu Kipgen, chief executive officer, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, L Pishak Singh, asst director, TA & Hills, Saitu-Gamphazol and Maj Pankaj Giri, 25 AR Sapormeina Post attended as guests of honour and special guest respectively.

Feedback on the administration and functioning of the school from parents/guardian and distribution of various prizes in the field of academic, sports and extra co-curricular activities were the main highlights of the event.

Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Gamnom Sapormeina in Sadar Hills is among three Eklavya school sin the State and had begun its session under the active supervision of the Managing Committee headed by Jacintha Lazarus, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati this year.

The three Eklavya schools in the state has been functioning under the initiative of Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and managed and run by Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Government of Manipur.

Solar light in the school had been earlier installed with the initiative of Nodal Officer, Armstrong Pame.

Jacintha speaking at the function said that EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina had a remarkable beginning with the collective effort of talented teaching staff under the capable Principal-cum-Administrator Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip.

She continued that lots has been changed and proven that Government run school could also do much better than the private schools in the areas while adding that the computer laboratory in the school is a unique one installed with the most advance technology which no other schools has so far in the district.

“The Computer Lab. will help the students in their academic work in many ways in the days to come and it will be replicate in all other schools and become the actual role model in the area”, she added.

She also appreciated all parents/guardian of the students for having confidence in the government and urged to continue support to the school, teachers and the administrators.

Kipgen also lauded the shared efforts of the school faculties in bringing tremendous changes towards education in the government run school and encouraged them to continue the good work.

Presentation of various dance, talent show and other entertaining items by the students marked the occasion.
