Disaster management training begins

BISHNUPUR, December 19: A Disaster Management Training programme was today inaugurated at the Indoor Stadium, SP office complex, Bishnupur district.

Altogether 300 VDF personnel will take part in the training programme which will focus on topics like First Aid, Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting and the training will conclude on December 31.

S Manglemjao-IGP Training and Operation and A.P, Md Ayub-Director Disaster Management Government of Manipur attended as the chief guest and president during the inaugural function.

Delivering his speech IGP S Manglemjao, said irresponsible activities of human has always been the greatest threat to nature.

Deforestation, burning of forest and carbon emission etc are activities which cause for global warming adding that such ecological imbalance triggers natural disaster at a massive scale, he continued.

In the event of a disaster man made or natural, the security personnel are the ones who would be pressed into action for disaster management purposes, said the IGP.
