BISHNUPUR, December 6: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, has said that the state Government taking up necessary measures to beautify Moirangm which is one of the tourist hotspots of the state.
The Chief Minister stated this during the inauguration ceremony of two markets sheds including Moirang Lamkhai Khoyon Market and Patlou Modern Fish Market.
Ibobi divulged that his Government will invest maximum funds in developing Moirang as tourist destination regardless of its minimum resources adding that preparation are over for widening the road stretch from Moirang Lamkhai to Moirang Ariba Keithel bridge.
Revealing that the road will be widen upto 50 feet each on each sides from the existing figure, Ibobi assured to give suitable compensation for affected land owners (pattadar) due to the expansion.
Apart from providing 24×7 power efforts will be made to ensure that abundant drinking water is available throughout the districts, said Ibobi.
Noting the tourist’s love for Island nation, the Chief Minister expressed his desire to convert Ishok Island into model village.
In the meantime, the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi reflecting on the newly inaugurated markets said that it would served as a platform for all business groups and activities from the entire district to converged under one roof.
He said the Government has many plans to yet to be taken up to develop the district adding that appealed the public to extend their co-operation in its initiatives in the future.
The inaugural functions was also attended by Commerce and Industries Minister-Govindas Konthoujam, Parliamentary secretary YAS and Tourism, M Prithiviraj, Thanga MLA-T Mangibabu, Fishery Minister- Abdul Nasir, Moirang Municipal Council Chairperson-Th Rajen.
