Guv, CM, Speaker greet

IMPHAL, Dec 24: Governor V Shanmuganathan has conveyed his best wishes and heartfelt greetings to the people of the State, particularly the Christian brethren on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Christmas.

The Governor in a message said, ‘’The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated as Christmas on December 25 every year and it is the most important festival in the life of a Christian anywhere in the world. He was the apostle of peace and preaced forgiveness, compassion and love’’.

He congratulated the Christian missionaries for the massive expansion of educational institutions, hospitals and humanitarian services.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh also greeted the people especially the Christian brethren on the occasion of Christmas, the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ.

In a message, CM Ibobi said, ‘’Christmas is a festival of peace, harmony and goodwill. It is the day when we remind ourselves that man can and must live in peace with his neighbours and that it is the peacemakers who are truly blessed’’.

“May the spirit of Christmas fill our lives with peace, love and prosperity,’’ the CM added in the message.

Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh also joined in greeting the people of the State particularly the Christian community on the occasion.

The Speaker wished for peace, prosperity and peaceful co-existence amongst the different communities of the State with the coming of the Christmas celebration.
