IMPHAL, Dec 22: Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) drew the attention of authority concerned for the inclusion of Thang-Ta subject in the syllabus of Manipur Cultural University.
In a press release, the society stated that students of Class-IX & X under the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) are studying Thang-Ta as a subject and preparations are going on for ensuing HSLC examinations. CoHSEM is also coming up to publish textbook on Thang-Ta for the 2016 session. If the indigenous games like Mukna, Mukna-Kangjei, Sagol-Kangjei, Yubi Lakpi, Sarit-Sharak and Arambai are not included, it will be a meaningless for establishing cultural university in the State and it is better to call Dance University, if Thang-Ta subject is neglected in the syllabus of the university, it alleged.
