IMPHAL, December 24: A 18 days long National Integration Tour cum Educational Excursion from Churachandpur to Pune & Mumbai organised by the 7 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) was flagged off on Dec 20.
In a press release, IGAR (South) said the tour was conducted from December 3 to for 19 girls, five boys and two teachers hailing from the civil society and remote villages of Churachandpur district as part of the Assam Rifles Civic Action Project.
The aim of the tour was to expose the children belonging to the far flung and remote villages of Churachandpur district to the national mainstream. This was a unique opportunity for these children to witness the development taking place in various parts of the country and to explore the diverse cultural heritage of India.
The tour provided an opportunity for the students to visit cultural landmarks like Gateway of India, NDA Pune, SIMs, Raja Kelkar Museum, Shaniwar Wada, Amanora Mall, Singhgarth Fort, Snake Park, Tribal Museum, Naval Dockyard, Nehru Science Centre, Planetarium & Film city, added the release.
