IMPHAL, Dec 29: The Manipur Central Jail authorities have been officially directed by the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Patiala House Complex to produce Irom Chanu Sharmila before the court on February 3 and 4, 2016, informed a reliable source.
It may be mentioned that the anti AFSPA crusader was supposed to appear before the court on December 15 and 16, however, the Manipur Central Jail authority had to seek an extended date from the court for her appearance following the failure of the Directorate of Health Services to issue a medical fitness certificate for Irom Chanu Sharmila to be taken to the national capital.
It may be mentioned that Parliament Street Police Station had arrested Sharmila in October, 2006 for staging hunger strike protest in pursuit of her demand at Jantar Mantar, Delhi and is presently under trial in the court in connection with a FIR lodged by the police station.
