IMPHAL, December 15: A man said he had bought a plot at Masjid Road under patta no 3206 sheet no 17 of Imphal Municipal measuring an area of 10’X20’ feet (.0025) which is found under Dag Chittha as 3206 (old) corresponding to New Patta No 1493 on June 23 2014.
Speaking to media persons, the man identified as Pebam Kenejit Mangang said he is yet to collect rent from the tenant of the plot.
He said he had bought the plot from Ph Munindro Sharma, 63 S/o Ph Bimola Devi of Keishampat Thokchom Leikai, however, he is yet to collect any rent from the current tenant Wahengbam Jet Singh who is running a toy shop from the plot.
He said the current tenant had taken over the shop from the last tenant some 30 years ago although the lease deed was registered only on June 12, 2014.
He continued he had tried to file a police report at the City Police Station but was suggested to take legal support as the case was a civil case.
He added that on the night of December 14, a team of police personnel from the City Police cordoned off his house and took thump impression and signatures of his wife and father while he was away and informed them to ask him to come to the police station at the earliest.
Meanwhile, police has said that they are trying to help without any partiality.
It is also learnt that the tenant Wahengbam Jet Singh had filed a formal complaint against the owner Pebam Kenejit Singh stating that he was demolishing the shop and that he is on the run. The concern police authority has also asked Pebam Kenejit to appear before the police at the earliest.
