IMPHAL, December 1: The founder of The Nehruvian Ningombam Bupenda Meitei motivated the Meitei-Pangal (Muslim) youths and students of Sora village of Thoubal district to take an inspiration from the life of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, in “The Career Counselling Programme” held on November 29 at Sora Bazar, organised by All Sora Students’ Organisation, said a press release by The Nehruvian.
It said, speaking at the event as an invited speaker, Ningombam Bupenda Meitei quoted Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics to follow one’s passion to attain happiness in one’s life. He stressed on the role of education and particularly urged the students to read more and think deeper and use the rights enshrined in the Constitution of India. Sharing the words of Indira Gandhi on following one’s passion, he underlined the uniqueness in every child and that uniqueness needed to be honoured and safeguarded in order to excel in life.
Taking the statistical fact from the recently published Census of India, he opined that the stable population growth rate of Muslims of Manipur showed the rising socio-economic development of Muslims in Manipur but he further stressed the need of its socio-economic development to reach the grassroots for the common Muslim population in Manipur. He urged the students to learn English writing and speaking with a special attention, said the press release.
Ningombam Bupenda Meitei expressed happiness in witnessing the enthusiasm of children and students participating for the event, and he congratulated the youths and organisers for their hard work in making Sora village a role model in India.
Later, he distributed prizes and certificates to the meritorious students and had an interactive session with the youths over a lunch hosted by the organisers, said the press release.
