University of Bhagavata Culture observes second anniv

IMPHAL, December 9: The second Foundation Day of University of Bhagavata Culture(UBC)Manipur was observed at the ISKCON Manipur premises.

Social Welfare minister Ak Mirabai Devi, Arts & Culture secretary Radhakumar Singh and UBC vice chancellor Parthasarathi Das attended the function as the chief guest, guest of honour and president of the function respectively.

The minister was all praises for the efforts of the institute and the spiritual knowledge it is trying to impart among the devotees. She said, “Unlike the growing pattern in the selfish materialistic world, this institute helps us to reflect on our spiritual purity and reconstruct our fractured morality towards a selfless progress.”

“The trend of our times which tangles in divisions and animosity can actually be freed if we meditate on the Bhagavata for inner peace.”

“In the present trend of diminishing spiritual devotion and culture, the establishment of such University will greatly contribute to reviving our culture especially our devotional practices. Peace can only ripple with revival of such spiritual conducts,” added Radhakumar exhorting the efforts.

Dr H Tomba Singh, vice chancellor, UBC Manipur in his welcome address highlighted the objectives of setting up the University of Bhagavata Culture in Manipur. He said, “The UBC has two faculties namely Ranganiketan: centre for study of traditional Manipuri Performing Arts and Bhagyachandra Research Institute: a study centre of devotional services of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra, who invented the world famous classical Manipuri Rasalila Dance”

Floral tributes were also offered to Srila Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami on the occasion.
