IMPHAL; December 26: A man who runs a workshop was shot at by some unidentified persons coming in a car at Kwakeithel Haorakchambi Soibam Leikai under Imphal Police Station on December 25 around 1.30 pm.
The injured man has been identified as Laishram Sanjoy Singh, 40 son of Late Dhananjoy Singh.
According to reports, Sanjoy was in his workshop opened in front of his residence when some unidentified persons coming in a car entered, asking whether his name is Sanjoy or not.
When Sanjoy replied that he is the man who they are looking for, one of the unidentified persons took out a pistol and fired bullet shots in his face, right leg and hand, leaving him badly injured.
He was rushed to RIMS Hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be out of danger.
Nothing could not be ascertained as to which organization carried out the act and reasons behind it.
A case has been registered by police in connection with the incident, the reports said.
