IMPHAL, January 20: In view of likelihood of breach of peace and tranquillity in the areas of Torbung/Kangvai along Tiddim Road in Churachandpur district in connection with the bandh called by JAC Tiddim and several other organizations, District Magistrate Churachandpur District in exercise of the power conferred upon Section 144 (2) of Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 has prohibited assembly of five or more persons in the areas with immediate effect and until further order.
The District Magistrate in an order said carrying of fire arms, swords or stick and other lethal weapons etc in the areas are also prohibited.
The order does not apply to the security forces and law enforcing agencies, the District Magistrate said.
