IMPHAL, January 4: The Deputy CM in a press meet at his quarter failed to explain how the Manipur Government obtained the data on the intensity of the earthquake.
He said he had no knowledge of how the 6.8 Richter scale was announced by the state government.
He also acknowledged that the State Relief and Disaster department is under staffed and ill equipped to handle such natural calamities.
The Home minister however announced that various relief centres are being opened by the govt through the deputy commissioners of each district.
