Education incomplete without spiritual value: Gaikhangam

IMPHAL, January 20: Education is very much essential in building a prosperous society, however, education is incomplete without spiritual value; asserted Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam while addressing the 27th foundation day celebration of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School at Khangabok in Thoubal district today.

Speaking as chief guest, the Dy CM noted that education is not only about going to school and college but it is a way of life through valuable knowledge.

He stated that every family should try to stay in harmony amongst its members with the firm belief that they will set a good example to other families and society as well.

A person should not sway away by ego as it will let him down in future life. Students should always honour teachers and distant itself from immoral activities, Gaikhangam said.

Maintaining that elder family members should imbibe the value of discipline and respect to their young ones, he said that a student’s life is deeply influenced by role of parents, teachers and surrounding atmosphere.

A student who knows the value of wisdom and time apart from studies will definitely succeed in life, the Dy CM added.

As part of the programme, prizes were presented to respective students of the school who secured position in various competitions held in the school.

Cultural performances were also performed by students of the school to mark the occasion.

The foundation day celebration was also attended by MLA of Khangabok constituency O Landhoni as president; founder cum chairman of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School Kh Menjor and Adhyaksha of Thoubal Zilla Parishad Kh Surnalata as guests of honour.

Social activist Dr Dhanabir Laishram; ZEO Thoubal M Manilal and president of MEELAL Naokhomba Meitei were present at the occasion as resource persons.
