IMPHAL, Jan 20: President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Gaikhangam has greeted the people on the occasion of Emoinu Irat Thouram, one of the sacred religious rituals of Meitei community.
The MPCC president in a message wished for peace, tranquillity and prosperous and self-reliant State with the coming of the religious ritual.
Gaikhangam who also holds the Home portfolio also extended greetings to the people particularly the Zeliangrong brethren in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland on the joyous occasion of Gaan-Ngai celebration which falls on January 22.
All Manipur Students Guardians’ Organisation (AMSG) also extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Imoinu Irat Thouram.
In a press release, AMSGO prayed that coming celebrations of Imoinu and Gaan-Ngai may tighten the tie of brotherhood between the hills and valley.
Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assemly, Th Lokeshwar Singh extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Gaan-Ngai festival.
The Speaker said the Gaan-Ngai festival is celebrated by Kabui community residing in and outside Manipur with pomp and gaiety.
Through the festival, people can see that Kabui community has been guarding their old-aged tradition and customs.
Alhaj Moulana Sheikh Barkatullah Trust and Imphal East United Clubs’ Organisation also extended best wishes on the Zeliangrong biggest festival Gaan-Ngai.
