IPAK sets deadline for pharmacy to clarify on inflated price of items

IMPHAL, January 15: The Indigenous Peoples Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has set a five-day deadline for Nirmen Pharmacy to clarify why it was selling hand gloves at more than its fixed price, its president Sapamcha Jadumani told a press conference today at the association’s office today.

Jadumani said in case the pharmacy owner identified as Shanker Prasad of Bihar presently residing at Telipati fails to clarify within the set deadline, the pharmacy will be shut down.

The incident came to light when some consumers complained to IPAK about Nirmen Pharmacy selling hand gloves at inflated prices, he said.

He said the cover of the hand-gloves imported from Malaysia had a printed MRP of Rs 70; however, it was found that the original price was covered up with a price tag of Rs 170.

He further appealed to the people to check the price of goods while buying things.
