KCP clamps blanket ban on 67th Republic Day

IMPHAL, January 24: The Politburo Standing Committee of the armed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in its just concluded meeting has unanimously decided to impose a blanket ban on celebration of the upcoming Republic Day of India on January 26 at any part of Kangleipak (Manipur).

According to a statement issued by Chairman of Politburo Standing Committee , KCP Ibungo Ngangom, all armed units of the outfit have been directed to resort to possible means to enforce the ban effectively.

In view of the ban, the outfit advised the general public to not venture out of home or participate in any programmes to be organized for the Republic Day celebration of India, which ‘robbed’ the sovereignty of Kangleipak under the guise of merger.

It also advised NGOs, educational institutes etc to not organize any programme relating to the Republic Day celebration.Those who violate the ban will be dealt sternly, the outfit cautioned.

During the meeting, the Politburo Standing Committee also decided that there must not be any further delay in making the mind of the party’s leadership about resolving the decades-long Indo-Manipur armed conflict known to the people of Kangleipak and the enemy and its puppet ie the colonial Govt of India and Govt of Manipur respectively.

The party’s leadership has come to feel that the bloody conflict can be resolved in a win-win manner on the basis of the principle of Reciprocal One-Step-Back Equitable Compromise Avenue, the statement said.
