MoS Agriculture to visit State today

IMPHAL, Jan 12: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Mohanbhai Kundariya will land at the Imphal Airport on January 13 on a three day visit to the State.

During his stay in the State, the MoS will conduct several field visits in connection with the Agricultural sector and assess the implementation of the various central sponsored activities taken up by the State government, informed a source.

It is also learnt that the MoS after landing at the Imphal Airport will directly go to the Manipur Raj Bhavan. He will later attend a programme at the Manipur Secretariat conference hall South Block the same day which will also be attended by the Agriculture director.

According to sources, the director will highlight the implementation of the Centre sponsored agricultural schemes in the State.

The MoS will also visit ICAR complex Lamphelpat to attend the observation of its foundation day and a farmers’ programme and later in the afternoon will visit Khoijuman in Bishnupur and conduct a tour to inspect the horticulture plantations undertaken under Centrally sponsored schemes.

He will also visit the Takmu government fish farm to examine the rearing o fish undertaken under the RKVY and further to Sendra Tourist complex and INA complex Moirang.

On January 14 he will attend an inauguration programme of New Academic Block of College of Agriculture (CAU) and later will visit the soil testing laboratory and see a demonstration.

He will later interact with farmers on the second day of his visit.

On January 15 Minister will meet the state government official and will have a meeting with Chief Minister before his departure.
