NIA court examines accused

IMPHAL, Jan 18: Yet another four accused in the case of the banned United National Liberation Front (UNLF)’s chief RK Meghen alias Sanayaima and several other key leaders of the outfit, were examined in the Special Court of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Guwahati today.

The accused examination is being done in the court based on the charge sheets framed by NIA against them.

The four accused are identified as Landhoni Devi; Khwairakpam Jiten from Sekmai in Imphal West; M Ibohal from Kabaw Wakching in Bishnupur district and Noren.

Amongst them, Landhoni Devi is on bail out while Kh Jiten, M Ibohal and Noren are under judicial custody along with the outfit’s chief.

Mention may be made that the first accused examination in connection with the ongoing trial against the outfit leaders was performed on January 7 wherein four accused including a woman were examined.

In the second accused examination held on January 11, three accused were examined in the court.

Along with examining the four accused today, RK Meghen and other leaders of the outfit were made physical appearance before the NIA court.
