IMPHAL, Jan 21: BJP leader Adim Pamei left Imphal today for the national capital where he said he will meet the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and seek the Centre’s co-operation in solving the insurgency problem in the State.
Speaking to media persons before leaving the State today, Pamei said he will be meeting the Union Home Minister and invite him to attend a seven-day proposed workshop on the present insurgency problem and its impact to the people of Manipur.
He said if the Union Minister accepts the invitation it might be a way forward in bringing peace and harmony in the State.
Observing that he wants the workshop to be held in the month of March in Imphal, Pamei said the proposed workshop will be held on two themes: Survival of Manipur amidst Insurgency and Survival of Manipur, Sans Insurgency.
Academicians, intellects and renowned individuals will deliver speeches on the issue during the workshop, he added.
