BISHNUPUR, February 16: In a shocking incident, a 6 and half years old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy at Chiningkhul under Bishnupur Police Station on February 15.
The victim hails from Tamenglong district but is presently staying with relatives at Chiningkhul, Bishnupur. The accused minor is also from the same village.
Police sources said the girl had gone out of her residence around 6.30 pm and failed to return for long, following which a manhunt was launched. Later when the search party came back after failing to find her, she was found shivering and crying with her legs covered in mud. There were also injury marks on her body, the source said.
According to the source, the girl was admitted to District Hospital Bishnupur at around 9.20 pm.
As there were injury marks on her private parts, she was shifted to RIMS around 10.55 pm where she was examined by forensic experts, gynae and surgery doctors.
The victim’s family also registered a complaint with the Bishnupur Women Police under FIR No 6 (2) 2016 WPS-BPR.
A team of police pulled up the accused minor from his residence under Section 6 POCSO Act and IPC 307 today around 11.30 am and later admitted him to RIMS for examination.
The sources maintained as per the victim’s testimony, she was taken to a shed around 3 km northwest of Maning Loukol by the boy, where she was allegedly raped.
