IMPHAL, Feb 19: The Working Committee of the Apunba Lup has questioned why Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam continue to maintain silence on the case regarding the killing of Sanjit and Rabina, even after head constable Herojit has confessed to killing Sanjit under instruction from his higher officer.

Under CRPC Article 173 (8), CBI should investigate Herojit further and reopen its case, it said.

It has also demanded that the senior official who is said to have given the order to kill Sanjit should also be put under custodian interrogation.

It has also said that the committee will launched severe forms of agitations if the government fails to act on Herojit’s statement.
