IMPHAL, Feb 19: A bullet-ridden body of a male was found lying at the bank of Tuisorok stream – a tributary of Shengmai (Shengvai) River opposite of Pallel Lai Lamthok Ching under Tengnoupal Police Station in Chandel district today.
The deceased in his mid 20`s, cladded with black T-Shirt, black trouser and chappal, bore bullets mark in the head. A Ladybird bicycle and some empty cases were also found near the dead body.
The body was found by some children who went to the area to hunt bird at around 9 am. Some nearby villagers said that they heard some gun shots at around 8 last night.
On receiving the news, a team of Tengnoupal Police and forensic science rushed to the crime scene and retrieved the dead body for post mortem at JNIMS Hospital.
Identity of the deceased could not be established till the filing of this report.
