CCpur, February 19: The first North East Zone Cultural Center, Under Ministry of Cultural, Govt. of India in partnership with the Dept of Art and Culture, Govt of Manipur, and the Ccpur District Administration, Govt of Manipur organised a programme by the name of” Bridging the Border – a border area programme” at Saikot playground featuring different cultural performances from North East Indian states today.
The opening function was graced by the DC, Ccpur district, Lunminthang Haokip IAS, as Chief Guest while Ms. Manmuanching, IAS, who is the CEO of the ADCC will grace the second day`s programme at Kholmun public ground tomorrow.
The programme which started at 1 pm today will continue till tomorrow.
The programme is a part of the nationwide Incredible India Programme and conceived to show performances by different communities of NE Indian state`s Cultural Troupes.
The performances today were led by the HSA Saikot unit which represented Ccpur District and perform Bamboo dance, Bordoishikla and Bagrumba dance from Assam ,Naga Pasha dance and Leisho Okpu Dance from Konyak Tribe`s,TapuuDance from Atunachal Pradesh,Wangala dance from meghalaya,Mog Dance from Tribura,Tamang Selo dance from Sikkim.
Other than the DC who was chief guest, the other dignitaries who attended are the SDO of Ccpur. Mr.Thienlaljoy Gangte, MCS and a host of other SDOs from different sub-divisions of Ccpur district.
The SDO of Ccpur gave the welcome speech followed by a speech from the chief of Saikot village, the deputy director of NEZCC Mr. D.Vashum and then the Chief Guest speech followed.
In his speech the DC said respect and upholding of culture and it`s spirit is the vitally necessary. He said the people can do many things through Cultural exchanges and emulating of positive cultures of developed countries.
The DC also emphasised on unity and oneness forged by these cultural exchanges can break barriers between the different communities. “Culture based bridging of different communities is very Important” he said. This is particularly in respect to Ccpur district where different communities live together.
