IMPHAL, February 3: Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh today assured to install one incubation centre in each of the nine districts of the State.
The MoS was speaking during an interaction with media persons at the BJP Manipur Pradesh office today. The MoS later left for Tripura.
Giriraj lambasted the Congress government in the State and said they have been governing the State for three consecutive terms and yet failed to bring any development.
A State with a population of just about 27 lakhs has a seven lakh unemployed youth population, he said lambasting the Congress government in the State.
He said as of now, India has only 22 incubation centres, but being the MoS of the MEMC, he is sanctioning nine such centres in the State.
It is the hope of the Centre that the industrial estate which has already been sanctioned by the Centre will be inaugurated in the State by April, he added.
He said he visited the Nilakuthi Food park yesterday wherein he announced to establish a FFDC centre which is also very much related to incubation centres.
Giriraj said once all these infrastructures are set up, they will help more than 2.25 lakh unemployed youth in the first phase itself.
He further added in the second phase which could take another 2-3 years, another 3-4 lakhs pf unemployment youth could be engaged and solve their unemployment problems.
As for the deplorable condition of the roads in the State, he said the Ministry of Surface and Road Transport under Nitin Gadkari has already assured 11 projects of which some including for the development of the Tiddim Road is sanctioned.
The MoS continued in the Agriculture sector, the Modi government has also announced several schemes for the welfare of the farmers.
He further appealed to the people of Manipur to give BJP a chance and see the difference it will bring.
If the party fail to fulfil its commitments towards the people, we will never again seek your votes, he claimed.
He further advised the BJP workers in the State to strengthen the party so as to achieve its goal of forming the government in 2017.
The MoS later visited Thongju MLA Bishwajit and interacted with a cluster of weavers at the MLA’s residence.
He left Imphal today for Tripura.
