CCPUR, February 15: DC Lunminthang Haokip today inaugurated a training programme of block level ICDS functionaries of the State for quality improvement in ICDS programme at the Dorcas Hall Mini Auditorium at New Lamka.
The program scheduled to be held for five days, beginning today is being organised byGuwahati based National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development Regional Centre.
In his speech, the DC lauded the organisers of the programme and further stressed on the need to conduct such programme more often in the district.
The DC’s speech was followed by a technical session where T Mawi Guite, a faculty member of NIPCCD made a presentation on ‘Review of ICDS Programme in Churachandpur District (group work)’ to the participants who are mostly child related workers like Angganwadi workers and supervisors, while Director of the Centre for Community Initiative Pauzagin Tonsing presented on the “Emerging Issue and Social Problem concerning revival and development of Children and Women in Manipur”.
In the afternoon session, the assistant director of NIPCCD K Sunita Seshadri spoke on the topic “Restructure ICDS in the mission mode-an introduction” and on “ECCE in restructured ICDS.”
Today’s inaugural program also witnessed participation of the DSWO Umarani and head of ICDS programme under DSWD Romoi and representatives of the MACR-CCpur also came.
The programme that will end on February 19, will also witness presentations from Medical Officers like Dr Netion Kom MD (Paediatrician) Dr T Haokip also a Paediatrician and Dr Pricilla who are from Churachandpur District Hospital on various topics.
