Kumbi Mangi joins BJP

IMPHAL, February 5: A national council member of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and a veteran politician of the party, N Mangi, also popularly known as Kumbi Mangi, has joined the BJP Manipur Pradesh today.

Speaking to media persons at the BJP office, N Mangi said that in India and Manipur in particular a new political scenario has emerged and the recent local body election is testimony.

The decision to join BJP was taken unanimously adopted by a public meeting of CPI Kumbi council held on January 30. The meeting was attended by Pradhan, and Council members and workers of the CPI, he said.

At this very stage it has become very challenging for himself and his workers to ensure the certainity of the CPI’s future, he said.

He noted that the NDA under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi has reassured the people with new hopes and dreams.

Taking into account the commitment of the Centre towards the NE States under the Act East Policy, he claimed that the Union Ministers are swiftly responding to any eventuality that could become a stumbling block for development unlike the previous UPA government.

Moreover, the Union government has gifted the State with a world class National Sport University to mention few, he continued.

The veteran politician acknowledged the fact that not only Kumbi but also CPI has suffered a massive hit even in areas which used to be their stronghold to the extent that it could not field any candidate to fight in the recent local body election.

Given the circumstances, he along with his party has decided to join the BJP, a party that has concern for the welfare of the people and a party that can face the ruling congress government.

The BJP is that one party that has the potential to do away with deep rooted corruptions, irregulartis, failures, fake encounter cases etc, maintained Mangi.
