Manipuri cultural show delights audience at Aswan Festival 2016

IMPHAL, February 18: The Manipuri cultural troupe at the Aswan Festival 2016 held at the similarly named city of Egypt drew much attention, said one of the State delegate.

The festival kicked off yesterday at the southern part of Aswan city inaugurated by Governor of the city Mustafa Yousry Atalaha.

The Manipuri cultural team has performed Manipuri Krishna Dance, Dhol Cholom, Khamba Thoibi Dance, Thang-Ta martial arts and Stick dance together in a 15-minute long composition which attracted the audience, informed the source.

The colourful choreograph was composed by instructor of Hiuyen Lanlong Manipuri Thang-Ta Cultural Association and altogether 12 artists of Manipur including six males and six females participated.

It is also said that following the excellent performance, the Manipuri team was invited by the Governor to his office and gifted mementos.

The Embassy of India at Aswan City also showed gratitude to the Manipuri Dance troupe for their performance.
