CHANDEL, February 13: Under the initiative of the Chandel’s Autonomous District Council (ADC) Chairman, the misunderstanding between Chandel’s Kuki Civil bodies and the Deputy Commissioner Chandel was resolved in a Reconciliation meeting held at Tengnoupal Village today.
Apart from DC Chandel Robert Singh Kshetrimayum ADC Chandel chairman Ljukhosei Zou and others delivering speeches, gifts were also exchanged between the two parties as a mark of reconciliation during the program.
ADC Chandel member S Tongpao Mate, Kuki Chiefs Association (KCA) Chandel president Shokhomang Haokip, KCA Chandel secretary Ngamsei Suantak, KSO Chandel president Doumang Haokip and Thadou Students’ Association (TSA ) Chandel president Vum Khongsai also attended the program among others.
Speaking at the program, Lhukhosei Zou said that different communities of the State broadly divided into the Kuki and Naga are settled in the district.
And every recognized tribe or communities have different opinions and agendum.
As such it is a tough job for elected members and the District Administration to work a balancing act, added Zou.
The ADC chairman also appealed to all for a peaceful co-existence and mutual understanding with one another.
It may be mentioned that a misunderstanding between the Kuki Civil bodies and the Deputy Commissioner had cropped out during the Advent Christmas organized by the District Administration last December.
