IMPHAL, Feb 4: The partly decomposed body of a 60 year old who had gone missing since January 4 evening was recovered today from the Langol Reserved Forest Hill Range by a group of firewood collectors around noon today.
The man has been identified as Nongmaithem Ito @ Biren 60 s/o (L) N Bukul of Naoremthong Khullem Leikai.
Ito was reported missing on January 5 after he failed to return home since leaving in the evening of January 4. A missing report was filed at the Lamphel Police Station, sources said.
According to reliable police source, the body was recovered at a distance from the Thongnak Lairembi atop the Langol Hill range by a group of firewood collectors.
Soon after getting the information, the Lamphel Police team rushed to the spot and found the body.
The body was found partially eaten by wild animals, informed the source.
The body was identified by family members today.
