IMPHAL, Feb 26: The Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur has dismissed a claim which emerged this morning in social networking sites pointing towards leakage of the Chemistry question paper of the ongoing Class XII examination as rumour and not true.
Regarding the issue, CoHSEM secretary Maisnam Bidyasagar conducted a press briefing at Babupara and said the claim was circulated by some miscreants creating a furore among the parents of students and anxiety among the students appearing in the examination.
This is a serious concern for the council, he told the media persons.
Although the identity or the intention of the defaulters is yet not known, CoHSEM has requested the SP Cyber Crime Unit to do the needful and track them down, he said.
Every year the exam is conducted in the most-fair manner with immense help from the government, police administrators and the students, he observed.
He said the council has made flying squads and micro-observers to take active roles in the conducting the examination in a free and fair manner.
He added three students were expelled for using unfair means today at Biramangol College.
He added Grade IV staff of the Thoubal Waikhom Mani Girls College and the Fancier Abhiram Higher Secondary School was also stripped off after they were found carrying photo-copies of answer sheets at the joint examination centre.
