IMPHAL, February 11: The uncertainty hovering over the post of BJP Manipur president will be finalised during a two-day visit of the BJP national general secretary (coordination) and in charge of North East Ram Madhop which starts today, reliable sources said.
The uncertainty over the post has been around since December 24, 2015 on whether the incumbent president will continue to hold the post or a new president will be appointed.
At the same time, the Central leaders of the party had extended incumbent president Th Chaoba’s tenure till further instruction from them.
Meanwhile, it is also learnt that several State leaders of the party continue to be stationed at the national capital lobbying for the post.
Ram Madhop who will reach Imphal around 2:30pm and will visit Kumbi Bazar where he will address a felicitation function of newly elected councillors of the BJP.
Further in the evening around 5:45, the BJP leader will hold meetings with ADC members and councillors of the party.
He will also interact with party leaders and workers at the BJP head office and conduct a press briefing before leaving for the national capital.
