IMPHAL, March 9: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union has said that a three-member delegation of the Union led by its President Wangkhemcha Shamjai is leaving Imphal on March 10 to join the three-day World Culture Festival beginning Friday (March 11) at New Delhi’s DND Flyway.
According to a release of the union, over 35 lakh people from 155 countries are expected to join the festival being organised to commemorate 35 years of service by the Art of Living.
The other two AMWJU delegation members joining the festival are Manipur Press Club Secretary, K Sarojkumar Sharma and the Union’s executive member Sunzu BM.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the festival, while President Pranab Mukherjee will preside the valedictory function.
The festival, as told by the organisers, offers a unique platform for spiritual and religious leaders, politicians, business leaders, peacemakers and artists to spread the message of global peace and harmony in diversity, it said.
The festival will showcase the rich cultural traditions of music, dance and the art from around the world along with Yoga and meditation, and hopes to foster a deeper understanding between people of different faiths, nationalities and backgrounds, it said.
