IMPHAL, Mar 29: An Assam Rifles personal posted at Sombrei village under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station which falls under Kasom Khullen Sub-Division, Ukhrul district committed suicide by shooting himself with an automatic rifle issued to him.
The incident took place this morning around 8. He was posted at F Company AR Post.
The deceased has been identified as Havildar Jitendra Kumar, 45 from Madhya Pradesh.
Police have registered a case in this regard. The dead body has been deposited at RIMS morgue for post mortem.
