CHANDEL, March 31: Inspector of Schools-II Ng Esha John today inaugurated a newly constructed Barrack type Teacher’s quarter of Purum Chumbang Primary School under Autonomous District Council (ADC) Chandel at Purum Chumbang Village.
The inaugural function was also attended by Chandel ADC Engineering Cell assistant engineer Yaiskhul Singh and Purum Chumbang Village chief Parhoi Chothe as the guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Esha John also unveiled the inaugural plaque of the newly constructed quarter which consists of eight rooms and separate toilets.
The Barrack type Teacher’s quarter was constructed under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) 2014-15 at the estimated cost of Rs. 40 Lakhs.
In his speech, John said that the construction of the quarter will solve the accommodation problem faced by the teachers in their respective place of posting and it will also ensure regular attendance of teachers.
He further maintained that in order to compete with the private schools, a result oriented target is also set for schools under the Autonomous District Council.
As such, there is a need to increase students’ enrolment in each school, he added.
While appealing to extend co-operation for smooth functioning of primary schools, he further maintained that the government will provide other infrastructures of school where the student enrolment is increasing.
Beside teaching staffs of the school, several villagers, Village Authority members, Church leaders of Purum Chumbang and its surrounding villages also attended the inaugural function.
Meanwhile, the newly constructed Barrack type Teacher’s quarter of Thamlai Primary School was also inaugurated by Ch. Meshil (Ranjit), Executive Member of Chandel’s Autonomous District Council today.
M. Morungson Maring, Member ADC Chandel also attended as the guest of honour of the inaugural function organised by the District Council Administration Chandel.
