IMPHAL, March 28: The Kuki Students’ Organization – Jiri & Tamenglong (KSO-J&T) Branch has sought clarification from a local daily and concerned railway authorities (NF Railway) regarding the publication of Railway Station’s name at Vangai Chungpao as Dolakhal which falls under Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong district on March 22 last.
The organization in a statement reiterated that the circle MLA and DC had forwarded to the concerned authorities for naming the station as Vangai Chungpao in tandem with the general public notice issued on October 17, 2002.
As such, the organization resolved to take up necessary action against any act which is against the interest of the local people, it stated.
Regretting the ‘miss informed’ news, the KSO-J&T said the concerned Dy Chief Engineer had received the letter from DC Tamenglong, which states that Vangai Chungpao is the official name of the station.
The organization cautioned that the Dy Chief Engineer should be held responsible in case of any eventuality in future for his negligence towards the people’s aspirations.
