Meetei Council Moreh observes 22nd foundation day

MOREH, March 12: The Meetei Council Moreh observed its 22nd foundation day this morning at its conference hall.

The observation was attended by leaders of different communities, meira paibis, student organisations and government officials.

Additional DC Moreh N Gojendro Singh, additional SP Moreh M Mubi Singh; superintendent CPF Moreh W Hemanta Singh, MCM president M Thoiba Meitei, Tamil Sangam president V Shekhar and SBI Moreh branch manager Ak Lokeshor Singh attended the observation as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, the presidium members and representatives of the council deliberated that Moreh is not only an international trade hub, but a mini-India with different communities residing together.

They also echoed the need to maintain peace and harmony among the different communities residing in Moreh.

Delivering the key-note address, a spokesperson of the council said the main objective of the MCM is to encourage peace and unity among the communities.

He further elaborated on the community works undertaken by the council in the fields of education and sports.

As part of the observation, the MCM also distributed monetary help and gifts to the elderly people.

A feast marked the end of the observation.
