IMPHAL, March 7: The Khurmi Region, GPRN in a statement has ridiculed the press statement of UKLF Unit 11 PRO S Mangi Aimol, wherein he had alleged Ts Prem as the reason for split in UKLF.
The statement while denouncing the allegation, said the GPRN termed the statement as concocted and baseless with a view to fool the public and conceal its own atrocities.
It also said the GPRN belittle the repeated hue and cry of various Kuki civil organisations with its sceptical and provocative remarks against the NSCN covering all leading newspapers. It is very unfortunate that the Kuki brethrens have the habit of digging the past events to use as a tool to malign NSCN, denying their own crimes and atrocities’ committed against the Nagas and said it appeals them to shun giving vengeful comments in the media.
It said for a man with limited knowledge of past history, S. Mangi Airnol was appointed PRO of UKLF only in 2014. Therefore, his comments have no authenticity as it is based on hearsays or rather verbal information, it said adding that apparently, the UKLF’s agenda is to distort the facts and publish fabricated stories in the media to mislead target audience.
As a matter of fact, Ts. Prem, as incumbent CAO, Khurrni Region accorded olive branch to the UKLF when the later seek asylum during a clash with KNA, it claimed.
Subsequently, on April 24, 2000, the five-point agreement was penned down between NSCN & UKLF, with Ts Prem CAO Khunni Region, GPRN and ThonglchoJun Haokip.president UKLF including associate members representing both entities, it said.
The contents of framework agreement covered the entire kuki inhabited areas within Nagalim, it said.
That, UKLF shall be subjected to the NSCN in every political issue, so also shall respect the rights and aspirations of the Nagas, it said and added that the Kukis shall not rebel against the Nagas, rather honour in principle the leadership of NSCN/GPRN.
The UKLF shall under no circumstance establish any diplomatic relationship and conspiracy policy with other organizations besides NSCN, but to concentrate and dedicate for peaceful political settlement of Indo – Naga issue, it said.
Both had mutually agreed to forgive and forgo the past events unfolded during Naga – Kuki conflict, and uphold the cordial relationship throughout the generations, it claimed.
It said the agreement also include that the Kukis in Chandel district shall enjoy their rights under the purview of the constitution of NSCN/G PRN. This perpetual agreement resulted to NSCN providing shelter and protection to UKLF, it claimed.
Ts. Prem the caretaker Khurmi Region had a vital role in UKLF’s nurturing and growth and acted like a father figure to UKLF while the later was in the process of evolving itself to the present status, it claimed.
Therefore, the question of Ts. Prem culminating sinister design to break-up UKLF as alleged, is totally baseless & without credibility and is unfortunate that UKLF is ignorant of many good gestures accorded under his leadership, it said.
It said there is tangible amount of evidence to proof that the break up occurred due to power tussle within the power hungry ranks and files of the UKLF and said it is unbecoming and vindictive of premature principle and ideology to blame someone for its own folly.
NSCN never promotes hatred among the brethens as alleged, infact the reason for the Indo-Naga talk is to bring peace and stability in the region, rather it is the UKLF who forcibly grabbed the ancestral lands of Aimol people thereby creating unrest and tension.
It further questioned whether is it NSCN or UKLF who are unleashing reign of terror on the Aimol denizens.
