IMPHAL, March 17: A one-day National Awareness Campaign(NEAC) 1014-15 was organised by Department of Botany, Oriental College (Autonomous ) Imphal under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India and Directorate of Environment, Govt .of Manipur.
The campaign was organised under the theme “Combating Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought”.
The inaugural function was attended by Dr Th Biren Singh, Principal , Professor Mangi Devi, Head of Department of Botany as chief guest and president respectively.
Deputy Director, Department of Environment Th Bhogen Singh spoke on the theme as resource person of the programme.
He urged that like the ILP demand movement, which aims at protecting indigenous people we equally need a mass movement to protect our flora and fauna, our environment.
