IMPHAL, Mar 31: Anti-AFSPA crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila was brought to Imphal today by a joint team of Jail and Police.
Sharmila, who is presently kept under judicial custody by the City Police Station under Indian penal Code Section 309 was taken to the national capital for her appearance at the Patiala House Court complex, New Delhi on March 29 and 30.
She was acquitted yesterday by the Delhi court in the 2006 case of attempt to suicide.
On reaching Imphal, Sharmila expressed happiness over the judgement and said she is not attempting suicide, but using her movement as a tool to get her demand of repeal AFSPA from Manipur.
