IMPHAL, April 27: Two ADC members of Churachandpur has demand the Chief Minister to immediately review the setting up of Kangvai Sub-division.
A joint released issued by Khousabung DCC member Seilenmang Khongsai and Leimata DCC member Dmmang Haokip said the decision of the State government is unacceptable.
It further said “As members of ADC Churachandpur we are the only grass root or local level body within the new Kangvai Sub-Division. But it is our unhappiness, disappointment and opposition to the renaming of Thangting sub-division to Kangvai Sub-division with Head Quarter at Kangvai in haste by exploiting the unfortunate incident at Torbung on January 19, 2016.”
It said they strongly condemn that the State government through the Churchandpur District Administration had forcefully, arbitrarily and covertly inaugurated the temporary office of SDO/SDC at Kangvai on March 28, 2016 without even a slight regard to the democratic principle and totally ignoring the two ADC members.
“We do not and will never accept the state government’s undemocratic and impulsive action on Kangvai sub-division. We will not take cognizance and will not recognize the new sub-division at Kangvai” said the release.
The two ADC member demand for immediate review of the issue by the chief Minister of state by placing the HQ at Khousabung and rename it Khousabung sub-division in order to ensure that the new public office service its intended purpose said the joint release.
It is mentioned that the two ADC members Seilenmang Khongsai and Demmang Haokip has submitted a written statement to the Chief Minister on April 18, drawing his attention on the urgent of the issue.
