IMPHAL, April 18: Appealing once again to all the insurgents in the State for talks, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh said that if there is no problem there will be no human life.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the programme “An Evening of Music and Meditation for Peace with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar”, the founder of Art of Living at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) this evening.
The programme was organised by the Art of Living Manipur Chapter.
CM Ibobi maintained that that if there is a problem, then there must be definitely a solution for the problem and this is what he believes.
Stating that he is also one of the disciples of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, he welcomed the advice of the spiritual leader in solving the problems of the State including the insurgency problem.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar while addressing the gathering said he would welcome all the insurgent groups of Manipur to come for a dialogue.
Running away in the forest will not solve the problem so let us sit together, he said, adding that happiness and prosperity would not come by violence.
Saying that by war and violence nobody ever gets happiness or prosperity and for this we have to come together and sit, talk and resolve the conflicts; he noted that Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela who fought for injustice through nonviolence succeeded in their mission but those people who are fighting in the name of justice only results in disaster.
Prosperity and peace go together and to bring prosperity to Manipur there is a need to bring peace to the youths of the area, he stated.
Deputy CM Gaikhangam; Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh and former Chief Minister and Chairman Reception committee Radhabinod Koijam also spoke on the occasion.
Cultural programme of different communities was also performed along with the meditation programme.
